Munnar Hill Station

Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. and is located at 1600 meter above sea level. Munnar was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Munnar is crowned with the sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities, which make this a popular resort town. Neelakurinji.is the most exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands of Munnar. This flower which bathes the hills in the blue every twelve years, and will bloom next in 2006 AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi , which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for adventure sports like trekking.
The places surrounding Munnar has a beautiful landscapes and cool pleasant atmosphere. Tea, cardamon, eucalyptus and other spices are the main plantations of Munnar. Pothamedu is known for its trekking and hiking options amidst sylvan surroundings. Pothanmedu is also known for its plantation business. Devikulam is an idyllic hill station near Munnar. Pallivasal is home to the first hydropower project in Kerala and is 6 kms away from Munnar town. Attukal has several panoramic waterfalls and offers trekking options. Rajamala is known as the natural habitat of endangered Nilgiri Tahr. and Chitthirapuram is a small and beautiful hill station that was once the favourite of the British while Echo Point is known for the natural echo effect it produces.

Peermade Hill Station

Peermade is another beautiful hill station in Idukki district in Kerala and is situated at 915 m above sea level. Peermade is on the way to the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of wildlife species.. Peermade is a pleasant hill station and was once the summer retreat of the Maharajas of Travancore. Peermade is indeed a cool hill resort and attracts a lot of tourist every year. In Peermade one can find sprawling tea, coffee, cardamom, rubber and eucalyptus plantations side by side with natural grasslands and pine forests.

Ponmudi Hill Station

The beautiful and peaceful hill station of Ponmudi is 61 km from the state capital Thiruvananthapuram district and at an altitude of 1000 m above the sea level. Ponmudi is blessed with the bountiful nature, serene surroundings and several other tourist attractions. The Ponmudi hill station is a welcome break from the rush of the city where you can relax in the laps of nature and relax for some time from your busy life.. There is a deer park which is only 5 kms away from Ponmudi. There is also the Peppara wildlife sanctuary which is well known for the elephants, sambhars and leopards.
Ponmudi is around 61km away from Thiruvananthapuram and it takes almost 2 hours to reach Ponmudi from the Capital city. Bus services from Thiruvananthapuram are frequent and accomodations can be availed at the Government Tourist complex.

Idukki Hill Station

Idukki is a prominent hill station located in Kerala, A travel tour to Idukki in Kerala would reveal that it is a treasure trove of rich variety of animal life contained within the confines of the largest wildlife sanctuary of the world, that is, the Idukki wildlife sanctuary. This sanctuary is peacefully placed within the boundaries of Idukki. The name Idukki is derived from "Idukku" which means a narrow gorge in Malayalam. Idukki can be termed as the hilly district of Kerala. and is one of the largest districts in Kerala. The main plantations in Idukki are tea, coffee, cardamon and other high range plantations.
Idukki is 200 kms away from Kochi and 80 kms away from Kottayam. Idukki hill stations are rich in its wildlife preservation and attracts a large number of tourists every year.
